Moving on…(A late post)

Posted: March 29, 2011 in Uncategorized

I feel much better now after I learned that our friends and loveones are safe in Japan so I think it is time to move on but I still kept  on praying that Japan  could go back to its normal life again soon .

Tartsky and I planned to dine at Steamboat restaurant yesterday but he changed his mind at the last minute because he wanted to eat steak at Holiday hotel and scheduled the steamboat tomorrow. So off we go…

Our starter…oxtail soup (for him) and a veggie salad  (for her and him 🙂

Tartsky’s steak…they have the best steak in house, tender…tasty and moist. He doesn’t like the french fries…ang dami pa naman argh!

I don’t eat meat so got myself a salmon steak…goodness!

Our desert…banana and almond crepe with chocolate. Yumminess! I almost forgot what I said…I would cut down on sweets hehe…okay, next time! 🙂

Headed home and finalized my packing…yes, I am going home on Saturday.  It’s just a one week leave, need to settle some important matter in Manila. See you…

The world was shocked and saddened by the news about what happened to Japan. It was the most terrifying catastrophe  I have ever seen in my entire life. The news says that it was 8,000 times stronger than the one that devastated Christchurch, New Zealand last month.  As we all knew, a massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake hit Japan at 2:46 pm on March 11, 2011. Then followed by a violent 7 meters high tsunami that slammed into northeastern part of Japan and the hardest hit city was  Sendai.

I was stunned because as far as I could remember my good friend Ghee, is living in Sendai. Her facebook account was flooded with  messages and concern about her safety on that very day itself  and after three days of silence. It was only last night when a certain Mylin posted in her wall that Ghee and her family is staying with her and that they are safe. The words was a bit crumble and I sensed that she is a Japanese but it doesn’t matter at all, the message is clear…my friend is safe. What a relief! I was so happy and even thanked Mylin for relaying the good news. I cried but it was a tears of joy. Thank you Lord , prayer is powerful.

Christchurch, New Zealand

Christchurch, New Zealand

Double thanks because my cousin and her family were able to survive the calamity in Christchurch, despite of major damaged in their home. God is good.
Nevertheless, my prayer does not stop there; let us continue to pray for everyone’s safety, for all the people in Japan, for our country Philippines and for the world. God bless us all.

I realized I haven’t watch a single movie for the past five months.  Weekend was a little gloomy as we’ve been hit by spring snow, I called it spring snow since the spring season was officially celebrated last feb. 4 as spring festival together with the lunar new year.  In fact, I already scheduled the last weekend as my ME time, I wanted to go shop at Renminsanzhang…oh, never mind the pinyin writing , I can only say the word but I don’t know exactly how it spelled.

Instead I’ve just watched the movie As far as my feet will carry me in my macbook,  it was a true-to-life story of a man full of courage and determination to be with his family. Not starred by a popular actors but I’ll give my two thumbs up! I even shed a tears and it’s now listed as one of my favorites.  I’m not a fan of  fantasy movies, not that I don’t watch…it’s just that  I’m more on reality…that’s it.
